How We Ship Your Plants

Every plant that leaves our greenhouse is meticulously prepared for its journey to you. We understand these aren't just packages—they're living treasures that deserve exceptional care during transit.

Processing Time: Most orders ship within 2-5 business days. During peak seasons or for special orders, we may need a bit more time to ensure your plants are at their best.

Shipping Methods & Carriers

We primarily ship via USPS and UPS, selecting the carrier that best serves your location and gets your plants to you as quickly and safely as possible.

  • Standard Shipping: 3-7 business days
  • Priority Shipping: 2-3 business days (recommended for most orders)
  • Express Shipping: 1-2 business days (available upon request)
  • Local Pickup: Available by appointment—perfect for browsing our collection in person

Our Packaging Philosophy

We take pride in our packaging approach. Each plant is treated as if it's being shipped to our own homes:

  • Plants are carefully secured to prevent shifting during transit
  • Protective wrapping shields delicate foliage
  • Eco-conscious materials wherever possible
  • Weather-appropriate outer packaging
  • Detailed care card specific to your plant included

Shipping Costs

Shipping rates are calculated based on your location, package weight, and the shipping speed you select. We aim to keep costs reasonable while ensuring safe delivery.

Have questions about shipping to your area? Reach out—we're happy to provide a quote before you complete your order.

Tracking & Delivery

Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information via email. We recommend tracking your package and being available to receive it promptly, as plants shouldn't sit outside for extended periods.

Can't be home? Contact us and we can often coordinate a hold at your local post office or delivery facility.

Shipping Restrictions

We currently ship within the United States. Some states have specific regulations regarding certain plant species—we'll let you know if this affects your order.

Weather Holds: Your plant's wellbeing comes first. If extreme weather (freezing temperatures or heat waves) threatens your area, we may delay shipment until conditions improve. We'll keep you informed every step of the way.

Winter Shipping Guidelines

Shipping Plants in Cold Weather

Winter presents unique challenges for shipping live plants, but we've developed a comprehensive approach to keep your plants safe even when temperatures drop.

When We Ship in Winter

During cold months (November through March), we carefully monitor weather patterns in your area. If nighttime temperatures in your location are expected to drop below 35°F during transit, we'll:

  • Automatically add insulation and heat packs to your shipment (at no additional charge for most orders)
  • Delay shipment until safer weather arrives, if temperatures are extreme
  • Contact you to discuss upgrade options for faster shipping

Our Cold Weather Protection

Standard winter protection includes:

  • 72-110 hour heat packs activated before shipping
  • Thermal insulation lining the interior of boxes
  • Extra protective wrapping for sensitive species

Important: Some tropical plants are particularly sensitive to cold. For orders shipping to areas where temperatures regularly drop below 32°F, we may recommend waiting until spring or upgrading to express shipping.

Upon Arrival in Winter

When your plants arrive during cold weather:

  1. Bring the box inside immediately—don't let it sit in cold temperatures
  2. Open carefully and remove plants from packaging
  3. Let plants gradually adjust to room temperature (30-60 minutes)
  4. Don't place immediately under grow lights or near heaters
  5. Wait to water until soil is mostly dry and plant has acclimated

Cold Damage

Despite our best efforts, sometimes cold damage can occur. Signs include limp leaves, discolored foliage, or mushy stems. If you notice these symptoms within 48 hours of delivery, please contact us with photos. We'll assess the situation and work toward a resolution.
